Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus: A New Era of Codeshare Partnership

Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus, the national carrier of Ireland, have announced the launch of a new codeshare partnership, which took effect on March 12, 2024. This partnership is set to provide customers with greater access to more destinations across the UK and Ireland and benefit passengers across the globe – including in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and New Zealand.


Qatar Airways, a multiple award-winning airline, has been recognized for its excellence in various aspects of the aviation industry. It has won the ‘World’s Best Business Class’ for the tenth time at the 2023 World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organization, Skytrax. The airline has also been voted the world’s best airline website by the World Travel Tech Awards. The new codeshare agreement will enable connections between Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus flights through Dublin, London, and Manchester²⁴. Customers will be able to travel between Irish and UK destinations including Aberdeen, Belfast, Cork, and Glasgow, and Qatar Airways’ extensive global network through Doha’s hub at Hamad International Airport.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, expressed his excitement about the new partnership, stating that it demonstrates Qatar Airways’ commitment to its customers, who will benefit from a wider choice of global destinations. Aer Lingus Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Reid Moody, also expressed his pleasure about the new codeshare partnership, stating that it offers their customers a great choice of routes and destinations on Aer Lingus’ extensive network of flights across the UK and Ireland.
