Alaska Airlines to Mexico: New Nonstop Flights to La Paz and Daily Monterrey Service This Winter

Alaska Airlines is expanding its reach into Mexico with the exciting addition of two new nonstop routes this winter. Starting in November, flyers will be able to enjoy a tropical getaway to La Paz, Baja California Sur, with flights departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This marks Alaska Airlines' return to La Paz after an eleven-year hiatus, and they'll hold the distinction of being the only US carrier serving this stunning coastal destination.

La Paz is known for its world-class diving and sport fishing, making it a perfect winter escape for outdoor enthusiasts. Passengers can expect up to three round-trip flights offered weekly on Embraer E175 aircraft, likely operated by Alaska's regional contractor SkyWest.

In February, Alaska Airlines will further strengthen its presence in Mexico by launching daily nonstop flights from LAX to Monterrey, a bustling industrial city in northern Mexico. This route will cater to both business and leisure travelers, offering a convenient connection between the two major economic hubs. Monterrey already has service from several US and Mexican carriers, but Alaska Airlines will be a new player in this market.

The addition of these new routes highlights Alaska Airlines' commitment to providing travelers with more options for warm-weather getaways and convenient business travel destinations during the winter months. Their focus on expanding their network at LAX aligns with their strategy of offering the most flights to the most destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean from this key hub.
