On Wednesday, Boeing announced that it had identified a new issue with the supplier quality of 737 MAX. The issue involves holes that were improperly drilled on the aft pressure bulkhead.

Boeing is currently evaluating if this issue will delay deliveries in the near future and if it will cause the company to miss its annual target of delivering at least 400 737s this year. The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the issue, but they have stated that it will not affect flight safety.
The mis-drilled holes were reportedly caused by Spirit AeroSystems, according to trade publication The Air Current. Spirit AeroSystems has not yet commented on the issue. The problem is only found in Boeing's MAX 8 model, and it remains unclear how many planes will need to be fixed or how long the rework will take.
However, Boeing has reassured its customers that it will continue to deliver 737s that have not been affected by the issue.
