The Dutch foreign affairs ministry has recently warned of travel risks for the Greek islands of Rhodes, Corfu, and Evia. The travel advisory color code has been moved to yellow from green because of forest fires. This means that travelers should exercise caution when visiting these islands and be aware of the potential risks.
Earlier on Sunday, wildfires broke through the Greek island, of Rhodes forcing thousands of locals to take shelter and tourists to flee the island. Tour operators Jet2 and TUI Correndon canceled flights leaving for Rhodes.
Easyjet and Ryanair maintained to operate flights to Rhodes. The two airlines said that they will keep monitoring the situation and advised customers to revert to customer service to get the latest updates about their flights to Rhodes.
