Kuala Lumpur, 15 April - Batik Air, a Malaysian full-service carrier under the Lion Air Group, has taken a significant step toward redefining luxury travel for its business class passengers by introducing an innovative private terminal transfer service in partnership with Leapmotor Malaysia. This collaboration, announced in April 2025, leverages the cutting-edge Leapmotor C10, an all-electric D-segment SUV, to provide a seamless and eco-conscious transport solution at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The initiative reflects Batik Air’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience while aligning with modern sustainability goals, setting a new benchmark for premium air travel in Southeast Asia.

The Leapmotor C10, the first new energy vehicle (NEV) introduced by Stellantis Malaysia, is at the heart of this service. With five units dedicated to Batik Air’s business class passengers, the C10 facilitates transfers between Gate G1 at KLIA’s main terminal and Gate C1 at the satellite building. This service is particularly timely, as it complements Malaysia Airports’ temporary bus transfers during the suspension of the aerotrain, ensuring minimal disruption for travelers. The C10’s spacious interior, equipped with high-quality fittings and supportive seats upholstered in OEKO-Tex Standard 100 baby-friendly silicone textile, offers ample room and comfort. Passengers can enjoy a first-class experience, complete with advanced features like a PM2.5 filtration system and customizable air vents, making the short journey between terminals feel like an extension of the airline’s premium hospitality.
Batik Air’s decision to integrate the Leapmotor C10 underscores its focus on innovation and environmental responsibility. The C10, priced at RM159,700 in Malaysia, boasts a 424-kilometer range (WLTP) and a single rear motor delivering 218 PS and 320 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. Its accolades, including the French Design Award 2024 and the US Muse Design Award 2024, highlight its blend of aesthetics and functionality. By choosing an electric vehicle for its transfer service, Batik Air reduces its carbon footprint, aligning with global trends toward sustainable aviation practices. This move also positions Malaysia as a pioneer in Southeast Asia for integrating NEVs into airport operations, following the C10’s regional debut in October 2024.
The private terminal transfer service is designed to minimize waiting times and maximize convenience, offering business-class passengers a chauffeured experience that feels exclusive and effortless. Batik Air’s leadership has emphasized that this partnership goes beyond transportation; it’s about redefining the travel journey with care and sophistication. The C10’s advanced Cell-to-Chassis 2.0 technology, which integrates the battery into the vehicle’s structure, enhances interior space and ride quality, ensuring passengers arrive at their gates refreshed. For travelers, this service transforms a routine transfer into a memorable part of the journey, reinforcing Batik Air’s reputation as a premium carrier serving over 70 destinations across Southeast Asia and beyond. This collaboration with Leapmotor Malaysia, backed by Stellantis’ global expertise, signals Batik Air’s ambition to lead in customer-centric innovation. As the airline continues to expand its network, including year-round flights to Melbourne with wide-body aircraft featuring 12 business-class seats, the Leapmotor C10 transfer service at KLIA sets a precedent for how airlines can elevate the ground experience. By blending luxury, technology, and sustainability, Batik Air is not just transporting passengers—it’s crafting a travel experience that resonates with the modern, discerning traveler.
