Etihad Airways Expands Network with 10 New Routes for 2025

Etihad Airways unveiled an ambitious expansion plan by announcing ten new routes set to launch in 2025. This historic announcement, marking the airline's largest single-day route expansion, aims to connect Abu Dhabi with an array of new destinations, enhancing its global network and reinforcing its position as a key international carrier.

The new destinations include Atlanta, Taipei, Medan, Phnom Penh, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Algiers, and Tunis. This strategic move will see Etihad flying to over 90 destinations across more than 50 countries, significantly boosting its market reach. Here's how the routes are scheduled to roll out:

  • Atlanta, USA: Four weekly flights starting July 2, 2025, operated by the Airbus A350.
  • Taipei, Taiwan: Daily service from September 7, 2025, with the Boeing 787-9.
  • Medan, Indonesia: Three weekly flights from October 2, 2025, using the Airbus A321LR.
  • Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Five weekly services beginning October 3, 2025, also with the A321LR.
  • Krabi, Thailand: Daily flights starting October 9, 2025, on the A321LR.
  • Chiang Mai, Thailand: Three weekly flights from November 14, 2025, with the A321LR.
  • Hanoi, Vietnam: Four weekly services from November 21, 2025, utilizing the A321LR.
  • Hong Kong: Daily flights starting November 28, 2025, with the Boeing 787-9.
  • Algiers, Algeria: Four weekly flights from November 7, 2025, with the A321LR.
  • Tunis, Tunisia: Three weekly services from November 1, 2025, also on the A321LR.

This expansion is not just about adding new routes; it's also about increasing connectivity and supporting tourism and trade. Each destination has been selected for its strategic importance, either as a burgeoning market or a significant cultural or economic hub. The introduction of these routes will be complemented by Etihad's free stopover program, allowing passengers to experience Abu Dhabi, potentially increasing city tourism.

Etihad's CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, emphasized that this expansion reflects the airline's commitment to listening to its guests, and offering them new experiences and opportunities. With this expansion, Etihad also expects to welcome over 20 million passengers onboard in 2025, marking a pivotal year for the airline's growth and its fleet expansion to over 110 aircraft, including new A321LRs.
