Lufthansa Inaugurates Munich-Bengaluru Flights With Airbus A350

Lufthansa, Germany's flag carrier, has recently expanded its service to India by inaugurating flights from Munich to Bengaluru. The inaugural flight was operated using the modern and economical Airbus A350-900. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the airline has offered service between these two cities. The inaugural flight reached Bengaluru after a flight duration of nearly eight hours. The route will be offered three times weekly, providing passengers with new luxurious business class seats and improved passenger amenities onboard.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Lufthansa officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring a Bavarian send-off with music from a brass band. The inaugural flight, LH764, departed from its gate on time at 11:55 CET and took off at 12:14 from Runway 26L at Munich Airport (MUC).

The addition of Bengaluru reportedly increases the carrier’s footprint in India to five destinations from its two hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. This launch of the Munich-Bangalore service is a testament to Lufthansa’s strong commitment to the Indian market, with the Lufthansa Group’s capacity to India surpassing pre-COVID levels.

Bengaluru, in addition to Delhi and Mumbai, now becomes the third Indian city to offer a direct route for passengers via Lufthansa’s 5-star hub in Munich. With a population exceeding 12 million, Bengaluru ranks as the third-largest city in India. It is recognized for its significance in the aerospace and IT industries. The MUC-BLR route will be offered three times weekly on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on the A350. This new connection between the Indian city of Bengaluru and Munich, the capital of Bavaria, Germany, is expected to strengthen ties and increase travel convenience for passengers.
