The aircraft, with the registration A6-EVF, had a relatively straightforward departure from DXB Airport. However, upon reaching a flight level of 25,000 feet above sea level, passengers and crew heard a number of compression stalls. After conducting a series of checklists, the flight crew decided to return to Dubai. The aircraft then dumped fuel and safely landed back at Dubai Airport two hours and 20 minutes after departure. A replacement flight to Sydney was arranged about 12 hours later.
