In August, Airbus Delivered 52 Jets

Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, delivered 52 jets in August 2023 to bring the total so far this year to 433 units. The company also sold 117 planes to bring the total so far this year to 1,257, or 1,218 after cancellations.

Its total backlog of unfilled orders topped 8,000 units for the first time at the end of August following a surge in air travel demand since the pandemic. During August this year, Airbus delivered 52 aircraft to 34 customers, of which the 49 delivered were narrowbody aircraft.

Of the 49 aircraft delivered, 42 were from the Airbus A320neo family, which consists of the A319neo, A320neo, and A321neo. The remaining seven aircraft were the Airbus A220s. New business booked in the month included a previously announced order for 75 jets from Wizz Air. Airbus is targeting 720 deliveries in 2023.
