Batik Air Malaysia, formerly known as Malindo Air, is launching a fascinating new route from Kuala Lumpur to Perth to Auckland. Starting on August 24, 2023, Batik Air will offer a 6x weekly service between Perth (PER) and Auckland (AKL). The route will be operated using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, featuring 162 seats, including 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats.

The flight between Perth and Auckland is one of the longest Boeing 737 MAX flights out there. But the "direct" flight between Kuala Lumpur and Auckland takes long narrow-body flights to the next level. If you fly all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Auckland on the same flight number, that journey has a duration of 14hr10min. Meanwhile, if you fly all the way from Auckland to Kuala Lumpur on the same flight number, that journey has a duration of 14hr20min.
This new service is an extension of Batik Air's existing service between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Perth (PER). Since the new flight is a fifth freedom service, passengers can fly between Kuala Lumpur and Perth, between Perth and Auckland, or between Kuala Lumpur and Auckland.
In conjunction with the launch of this new service, Batik Air is offering promotional fares for Economy Class and Business Class ex-Malaysia. This service gives travelers in both directions access to three popular destinations with huge tourism potential, including unique outdoor adventures, food, and culture with a whole host of exciting possibilities. Overall, this new route from Batik Air offers travelers more options for traveling between Kuala Lumpur, Perth, and Auckland. It will be interesting to see how this route performs in the coming months.
