INCIDENT | SpiceJet Q400 Aircraft Catches Fire At Delhi Airport


A SpiceJet Q400 aircraft engine caught fire while carrying out a ground run at Delhi Airport on Tuesday evening. The aircraft and maintenance personnel are safe, according to officials. A SpiceJet spokesperson said that a fire warning was observed in an engine of the Q400 aircraft that was under maintenance, and the fire extinguisher was discharged. The fire brigade was called as a precautionary measure.


The incident happened hours after the DGCA removed SpiceJet from enhanced surveillance. The airline company has said that all the aircraft and maintenance personnel are safe.
