Canadian Air Force Placed An Order Of Four A330 MRTT

The Canadian government has finalized a contract with Airbus Defense and Space to buy four A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft. The new aircraft fleet, known as the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability (STTC), will replace the aging CC-150 Polaris (A310 MRTT) currently operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

The A330 MRTTs are expected to enhance Canada's air operational training infrastructure and strengthen its continental defense capabilities. The Government of Canada has also ordered 5 commercial A330s to be converted. The first delivery is scheduled for 2027.

This new fleet of aircraft will replace the existing CC-150 Polaris aircraft, which have been in operation since 1992. The A330 MRTT is considered to perfectly match Canada’s needs to protect its sovereignty as well as to enhance operations both in the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) as well as in NATO.

Endless Possibilities
