Ethiopian Airlines opens a five-star in-terminal hotel at Addis Ababa hub

41 guest rooms are now available in the first phase of the five-star Ethiopian Skylight In-Terminal Hotel at Addis Abeba Bole International Airport, according to Ethiopian Airlines (EA).

The hotel is conveniently close to the departure gate and physically connected to Addis Ababa Bole International Departure Terminal 02, according to a statement from the airline on September 13, 2022.

The hotel’s development, according to the airline, “takes transit in Addis Abeba to a new level,” as it will serve both passengers and flight crews.

“The extensive Ethiopian network brings millions of passengers through Addis Ababa each year. As a customer-focused airline, we want our passengers to enjoy every minute they spend with us, even their transit hours at the airport,” Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said.

The in-terminal hotel is Ethiopian Airlines’ second five-star hotel to open in the last four years.

The airline announced the launch of its brand-new “Ethiopian Skylight Hotel” on January 28, 2019, which, per local media estimates, was expected to cost up to $65 million.

The Ethiopian Skylight Hotel will be in charge of overseeing the Ethiopian Skylight In-Terminal Hotel.
