Ryanair Boeing 737 blocks runway at Leeds Bradford after tire blowout


A Ryanair Boeing 737 has been blocking runway of Leeds Bradford airport (LBA) for several hours on June 5, 2022, as flights were delayed and diverted.

The aircraft remained on the runway after landing. According to Flightradar24, it arrived at 11:29 AM GMT from Ibiza (IBZ).

According to Metro, passengers witnessing the landing described it as “very heavy”, followed by a “very abrupt stop”.

Leeds Live and other local media websites reported that the aircraft suffered a tire blowout, and remained stuck on the runway for several hours.

Flightradar24 data shows that following the landing, three flights have been diverted to other airports, with the next flight landing at LBA at 2:27 pm.

Multiple photos taken by passengers at LBA show the aircraft surrounded by firefighting vehicles.

Yorkshire Evening Post reported that, according to LBA spokesperson, the passengers were unharmed.
