Indian start-up airline Akasa Air has unveiled its new livery, in tones of orange and purple, saying it has taken inspiration from the sky.

Akasa Air is an ultra-low-cost carrier backed by Indian billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, which plans to start operations in mid-2022.

“Inspired by elements of the sky, The Rising A symbolizes the warmth of the sun, the effortless flight of a bird, and the dependability of an aircraft wing,” the airline states in a social media post. The airline vows to be “the most dependable airline in India”.

‘It’s your sky’ is the tagline the airline has chosen and which was unveiled in a promotional video.

Akasa Air will be operating the Boeing 737 MAX, having announced an order for 72 of the aircraft at the Dubai Airshow on November 16, 2021. Boeing congratulated Akasa on its new livery, saying it looked forward to growing the partnership with India’s newest carrier.
