Islamabad, May 19 - Pakistan has deployed a jet squadron, thousands of troops, and advanced air defence systems to Saudi Arabia amid the ongoing Iran war, marking a significant escalation in military cooperation between the two nations. Under a mutual defence pact signed last year, Islamabad has sent approximately 8,000 troops, a full squadron of around 16 aircraft, primarily Chinese co-produced JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, and a Chinese HQ-9 air defence system to bolster Saudi Arabia's defences. The deployment, financed entirely by Riyadh with all equipment operated by Pakistani personnel, also includes two squadrons of drones.
