The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that preparations are underway in Portsmouth to reduce the carrier's notice to sail from around 10-14 days to just five days. This adjustment allows the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier to depart more swiftly if the government decides to deploy it to the region.
