This development addresses longstanding challenges in securing export approvals for the U.S.-made AIM-120 AMRAAM, which has limited the platform's beyond-visual-range (BVR) capabilities in international markets. The Meteor, renowned for its ramjet propulsion, offers exceptional no-escape zone performance with a range exceeding 100 kilometers in many scenarios, far surpassing traditional rocket-powered missiles in sustained energy and terminal effectiveness. Complementing this, the MICA provides flexible dual-mode guidance, active radar, and infrared, enabling robust engagement across short to medium ranges while offering resistance to countermeasures.
