Airbus Helicopters Achieves Record Growth in Orders and Deliveries

Paris, January 27 - Airbus Helicopters has reported a significant surge in its annual performance, marking 2025 as a year of robust expansion across both its civil and military portfolios. The manufacturer logged a total of 544 gross orders, resulting in 536 net bookings after accounting for cancellations. This represents a nearly 20% increase in unit orders compared to the previous year, underscoring a period of high demand for vertical lift solutions. Complementing this commercial momentum, the company ramped up its industrial output to deliver 392 helicopters to customers worldwide, an 8.5% rise from the 361 units delivered in 2024. These results highlight a resilient supply chain and the company's ability to scale operations in a complex global market.

The growth was largely catalyzed by a sharp rise in defense and security requirements, with the company’s military market share climbing to 28%. A primary driver of this success was a landmark sovereign commitment from Spain, which secured 100 aircraft, including H145Ms and NH90s. Additionally, Germany strengthened its modernization efforts by exercising options for more H145Ms, while Greece and Morocco placed strategic orders for the heavy Super Puma and H225M families. This trend toward multi-mission capability is reflected in the H145’s continued dominance as the best-selling model, specifically within the parapublic and military sectors where high-tempo operational availability is paramount.

In the civil and parapublic sectors, Airbus Helicopters maintained a commanding 51% market share. The innovative H160 program reached significant milestones, securing approximately half of the medium twin-engine market share and expanding into law enforcement and firefighting roles. The year also featured the strategic unveiling of the H140, a next-generation light twin helicopter that has already captured 61 firm orders. Furthermore, the company made significant strides in the Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) market, integrating tactical drones like the VSR700 into its core ecosystem to provide networked solutions for modern maritime and battlefield environments.

Looking forward, the company is fortifying its global industrial footprint to sustain this elevated demand. A new Final Assembly Line in India is set to become the world’s fourth H125 facility, enhancing supply chain resilience and local market engagement. Technological advancements also remain a priority, as evidenced by the Racer demonstrator exceeding speed targets and the military H160M Guépard completing its maiden flight. By balancing traditional rotorcraft excellence with digital and uncrewed innovations, Airbus Helicopters is strategically positioned to navigate the evolving aerospace landscape while delivering consistent value to its global fleet operators.
