TIANJIN, December 17 - Airbus has achieved a significant milestone in its long-standing partnership with China's aviation sector by delivering the 800th A320 family aircraft assembled at its Tianjin facility on December 17, 2025. This landmark aircraft, an efficient A321neo configured with 12 business class and 186 economy class seats, was handed over to Air China, highlighting the growing demand for advanced single-aisle jets in the region's booming air travel market. The Tianjin Final Assembly Line Asia (FALA), Airbus's pioneering production site outside Europe, continues to play a pivotal role in meeting global needs for the popular Airbus A320neo family, known for its fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Established in 2008 and commencing deliveries in 2009 with the first A320, the Tianjin facility has steadily ramped up output, reaching previous milestones of the 500th aircraft in October 2020 and the 700th in July 2024. Now contributing approximately 20 percent of Airbus's worldwide A320 family production, the site assembles A319, A320, and A321 models, underscoring the strength of Sino-European industrial cooperation. The recent inauguration of a second A320 family assembly line in Tianjin in October 2025 further expands capacity, integrating into Airbus's network of ten global final assembly lines across Europe, the United States, and China.

This 800th delivery reinforces Airbus's deep-rooted commitment to China, its largest single-country market for commercial aircraft, where the company has maintained operations for over 40 years. With the A320 family securing more than 19,000 orders from over 300 customers worldwide, the Tianjin operations support Airbus's ambitious goal of reaching 75 monthly single-aisle aircraft production by 2027. Approximately one-third of Airbus aircraft in China's operational fleet originate from Tianjin, and in 2024, about 25 percent of locally assembled planes were exported to international carriers.

As China's aviation ecosystem remains robust, with passenger numbers surging and the country boasting the world's largest flying population, Airbus's expanded presence in Tianjin positions it to efficiently serve both domestic and global demand for the versatile Airbus A320neo and A321neo models, driving sustainable growth in commercial aviation.
