Paris, June 17 - ANA Holdings, the parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Peach Aviation, solidified a significant agreement with Airbus, signing a firm order for 27 single-aisle aircraft, comprising 24 A321neo and three A321XLR jets. The announcement, made at the Paris Air Show 2025, marks a strategic move to modernize and expand the fleets of both ANA and Peach Aviation, aligning with the group’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and enhanced passenger experiences. The order was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Koji Shibata, Representative Director, President, and CEO of ANA Holdings, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President of Sales for Commercial Aircraft.

The order allocates 14 A321neo aircraft to All Nippon Airways, bolstering its existing fleet of 33 A320 family aircraft, including 22 A321neos. ANA’s additional A321neos will enhance its capacity to serve high-demand domestic and regional routes, leveraging the aircraft’s advanced technology to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs. The A321neo, part of Airbus’s A320neo family, incorporates new-generation engines, aerodynamic Sharklets, and optimized cabin designs, delivering over 20% savings in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to previous single-aisle models. These attributes align with ANA’s long-term environmental goals, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable aviation within Japan.

Peach Aviation, ANA Holdings’ low-cost subsidiary, will receive 10 A321neo and three A321XLR aircraft, making it the first Japanese carrier to operate the A321XLR. The A321XLR, with a range of up to 4,700 nautical miles (8,700 kilometers), is the longest-range single-aisle aircraft in the world, enabling Peach to explore new mid- to long-haul routes that were previously unviable with narrow-body jets. This capability offers Peach a competitive edge in the low-cost market, allowing it to expand its network while maintaining cost efficiency. The A321XLR’s Airspace cabin will provide passengers with long-haul comfort across all classes, enhancing Peach’s appeal for longer routes. Currently operating 36 A320 family aircraft, Peach will significantly upgrade its fleet with these next-generation jets.

This order builds on ANA Holdings’ longstanding relationship with Airbus, which began in 1987. With nearly 100 A320 family aircraft now ordered by the group, the agreement underscores ANA’s confidence in Airbus’s single-aisle platform. The A321neo family, with over 7,000 orders from more than 90 customers globally, is renowned for its reliability, efficiency, and versatility, making it a cornerstone of ANA and Peach’s fleet modernization strategies. By integrating these aircraft, ANA Holdings aims to enhance operational flexibility, reduce environmental impact, and meet evolving passenger demands, positioning both airlines for sustained growth in a competitive market.
