The expanded flight schedule includes increased frequencies to a diverse array of cities across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, reflecting the airline’s proactive approach to anticipating travel demand, particularly ahead of the peak summer season. Among the notable enhancements, Amsterdam will see its weekly flights rise from seven to 11, offering more opportunities for travelers to explore the Dutch capital or connect onward to other destinations. Similarly, Tokyo Narita will increase from 11 to 14 weekly flights, strengthening ties between Qatar and Japan, a key market for both tourism and business. In the Middle East, Sharjah will experience a significant boost, with flights jumping from 21 to 35 per week, catering to the region’s growing travel needs. Other destinations benefiting from this expansion include Damascus, which will see a dramatic rise from three to 14 weekly flights, and London Heathrow, where services will increase from 49 to 56 weekly flights, further solidifying Qatar Airways’ presence in one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
This expansion is not just about adding flights; it’s about elevating the travel experience. Qatar Airways operates these services through its award-winning hub, Hamad International Airport in Doha, which has been voted the World’s Best Airport and World’s Best Airport Shopping by Skytrax in 2024. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, emphasized that these additional flights complement the carrier’s vast network, providing robust frequencies that benefit passengers. He highlighted the airline’s dedication to fostering worldwide connectivity and delivering unparalleled service, especially as travel demand surges with the approach of summer. Destinations like Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro, Entebbe, Larnaca, Madrid, Maputo-Durban, and Tunis are also seeing increased frequencies, ensuring travelers have more options to reach bustling metropolises and scenic landscapes alike.
