TrueNoord, a specialist regional aircraft lessor, announced the expansion of its fleet to over 100 aircraft, following the purchase of seven ATR 72-600s from GOAL Aircraft Leasing on behalf of KGAL. This significant acquisition not only marks a milestone for TrueNoord but also underscores its strategic growth in the regional aviation market. The transaction involves aircraft that will be leased to three new European airlines, expanding TrueNoord's footprint on the continent.
Four of these ATRs will fly with Air Serbia, two with Emerald Airlines in Ireland, and one with Olympic Air in Greece. This move increases TrueNoord's portfolio to 107 regional jets and turboprops, highlighting its commitment to serving the regional aviation sector with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft. TrueNoord's CEO, Anne-Bart Tieleman, emphasized the company's focus on building a fleet that supports its lessees' operations with efficiency and reliability. "Our focus is on building and sustaining a fleet of latest technology aircraft that enhance our lessees’ operations, delivering fuel economy and dispatch reliability," Tieleman stated. This acquisition aligns with TrueNoord's vision to provide aircraft that are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly, which is vital in today's aviation industry.
The deal with GOAL Aircraft Leasing was facilitated by TrueNoord's established relationships within the industry and its strategic approach to fleet management. Andreas Schneider, Director of Sales & Marketing at GOAL, commented on the transaction, "Facilitating this transaction with TrueNoord exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-value, sustainable aviation investments for KGAL’s funds." This expansion comes at a time when regional aircraft leasing is witnessing increased demand, driven by airlines looking to renew their fleets with more efficient aircraft to meet both operational and environmental goals.
TrueNoord, with its headquarters in Amsterdam and offices in Dublin, London, and Singapore, has positioned itself as a key player in this niche market, offering tailored leasing solutions that cater to the specific needs of regional operators. With this latest deal, TrueNoord not only broadens its global reach but also reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner in regional aviation, capable of managing a diverse and growing fleet. This step forward is part of TrueNoord's broader strategy to continue its growth trajectory, with plans to further expand its presence in North America in the coming years.
