Singapore Airlines Invests $835 Million in Airbus A350 Cabin Upgrades

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced a comprehensive S$1.1 billion (approximately $835 million) investment to upgrade the cabins of its entire fleet of 41 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, marking a significant enhancement in its long-haul service offerings. This initiative, set to begin in the second quarter of 2026, will see the introduction of new first-class cabins, along with revamped business, premium economy, and economy class seats across the board.

The retrofit program is designed to elevate the travel experience on what are some of the world's longest flights. The Airbus A350-900ULR, used for ultra-long-range routes like Singapore to New York, will be particularly transformed. These aircraft will feature four first-class suites, up from no first-class seats currently, alongside an increase in business-class seats to 70 from 67, and a reduction in premium economy seats to 58 from 94 to accommodate the new first-class section. This move is part of a broader strategy by SIA to cater to the increasing demand for premium travel experiences.
