In addition to the flight deck, Boom Supersonic also demonstrated rapid progress on its Symphony engine. The company has begun hardware testing and expects the first full-scale engine core to be operational in just 18 months. To support the development of the Symphony engine, Boom has expanded its partnership with StandardAero, which will now assemble and test engines at its facility in San Antonio, Texas.
Boom also provided updates on its XB-1 supersonic demonstrator, which is on track for its second flight. The company has been testing and confirming the aircraft's performance and handling qualities in preparation for this milestone.
