Air Canada Bolsters Fleet with Fuel-Efficient Boeing 737 MAX Jets from BOC Aviation

Air Canada announced it secured eight brand-new Boeing 737 MAX jets through a leasing agreement with BOC Aviation. This move comes as travel demand remains strong on both domestic and international routes for the Canadian flag carrier.  The aircraft, scheduled for delivery this year (2024), will undergo necessary modifications before entering service in 2025.

All eight planes will be Boeing 737 MAX 8 variants, known for their fuel efficiency. Initially, they'll operate with a single economy class configuration for an unspecified period. Later, they'll be reconfigured to match Air Canada's standard two-cabin layout for narrowbody jets, offering both economy and business class seating.
