In a landmark deal announced at the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Airbus and Saudia Group, the parent company of the Kingdom's national carrier Saudia and budget airline flyadeal, signed a firm order for 105 A320neo family aircraft. This significant agreement marks the largest aircraft order in Saudia Group's history and underscores Saudi Arabia's ambitious plans to transform its aviation sector.
The order consists of 12 A320neo aircraft and 93 A321neo variants. This selection caters to both airlines' needs, with the A320neo suited for short-haul routes and the A321neo offering increased capacity for busier routes. The expanded fleet will significantly enhance Saudia Group's ability to meet growing passenger demand and support the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals. Vision 2030, a far-reaching economic and social reform plan, prioritizes developing the tourism industry.
