New airline AJET spreads its wings with first ticket sales

AJET, the new wholly-owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, has officially opened ticket sales. Customers can now book flights with AJET on its official website, www.ajet.com, ahead of the airline’s first flight on 31 March 2024. The airline, originally called AnadoluJet, was established in 2008 to improve air transport links for Anatolia. Over the past 16 years, it has reunited over 150 million guests with their loved ones. The former Turkish Airlines brand will now operate under the ‘AJET Air Transportation Inc. name as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The new airline aims to offer a more modern, comfortable, and accessible experience for its customers. With plans to become a leading low-cost airline on a global scale, AJET is set to further strengthen its competitive position in the market. AJET will operate flights to a total of 93 destinations, including 41 domestic and 52 international. The airline will offer a range of services from the UK. With its fleet of 95 aircraft, AJET will fly to a total of 44 countries this summer. The airline has set a target of 200 aircraft within the next 10 years.

Even before its inaugural flight, AJET has already announced network expansion. The airline will be adding routes between Istanbul and London Stansted Airport, Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, Ankara EsenboÄŸa Airport, and Rome-Fiumicino Airport. This sub-brand will expand Turkish Airlines’ expansive reach across the globe, adding more flights to the Group’s existing 360-strong network.
