Effective August 2, 2024, Flydubai, one of the leading national airlines in the UAE, will commence its direct flight services to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, thus becoming the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights to this destination. The new route will mark Flydubai's entry into the Baltic region. Commencing from October 11, 2024, Flydubai will also offer direct flights to Riga International Airport in Latvia followed by Tallinn Airport in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania from October 12, 2024.

Speaking on this development, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, expressed his pride in the carrier's expanding network of 126 destinations, out of which 60% had little or no connections to Dubai before. He further stated that the commencement of new services to the Baltic region and Basel would make travel more convenient for passengers through Dubai's aviation hub, whether they are visiting Dubai or connecting to flydubai's network or beyond with its codeshare partner, Emirates.
