Etihad Airways to Deploy Airbus A380 on The Abu Dhabi-New York Route from April 2024

Etihad Airways has announced that it will be using its Airbus A380 aircraft for its route from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to New York’s John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) starting in April 2024. One of the two daily flights to JFK Airport will be operated by the A380, while the other will be serviced by a Boeing 787-9.

This marks the second destination for the A380 since its reintroduction, with London Heathrow Airport (LHR) being the first. Etihad Airways CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, expressed excitement about offering passengers an enhanced experience on the A380.

He emphasized that customers, regardless of their travel class, will receive superior service from the dedicated crew, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing journey. Neves highlighted the importance of this for corporate customers, who can arrive ready for their business engagements. He added that deploying the A380 on the high-demand New York route aligns with customer needs for increased capacity and supports the growth of their network.

The A380 will offer four classes on its JFK route: The Residence, First Class, Business Class, and Economy. The schedule for the AUH-JFK route on the A380 is yet to be released by the airline.
