BREAKING | Egyptair Signs A Second Deal for 10 Airbus A350s In Dubai Airshow

On the second day of Dubai Airshow 2023, Egyptair, the national flag carrier of Egypt, confirmed a deal for 10 Airbus A350-900s. This marks the second agreement that Egyptair has completed at the 2023 Dubai Airshow.

The Deal

On November 14, 2023, Egyptair and Airbus announced in front of a media audience that the airline will bolster its fleet with 10 Airbus A350-900s. The CEO of Egyptair, Yehia Zakaria, confirmed that the first A350 will be delivered in 2025.

This deal marks Airbus’ first order for widebody aircraft at the Dubai Airshow after Air Baltic placed an order for 30 A220-300 aircraft with hold options for 20 more. On November 13, 2024, Egyptair also announced it had facilitated a leasing agreement with Air Lease Corporation for 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets.


The Future

With this deal, Egyptair plans to build its fleet of 125 planes by 2028. The airline received its first Airbus A321neo aircraft on February 27, 2023, becoming the first airline in Africa to operate the type. According to ch-aviation.com, Egyptair currently has 66 active aircraft with the Boeing 737-800 dominating the fleet at 27 jets.
