EgyptAir, the flag carrier of Egypt, has announced the addition of Shanghai to its passenger network, marking a significant expansion in its operations. A New Chapter in EgyptAir's Expansion
The decision to launch the Cairo-Shanghai route comes as part of EgyptAir's ongoing expansion strategy. The airline has recently launched several new routes, including Delhi, Dhaka, Manchester, Newark, Port Sudan, and charter flights to São Paulo. The addition of Shanghai marks the airline's fourth destination in China, joining Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou.
Flight Details
The new service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The outbound flights will depart Cairo for Shanghai at 02:00 local time and arrive at Pudong airport at 18:55 local time. The return flights will leave Pudong at 01:05 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, landing back in Cairo at 07:35 local time.
Aircraft Details
The 5,210-mile (8,384 km) route will be serviced by the Boeing 777-300ER, EgyptAir's second most-used long-haul type by winter flights after the 787-9. The aircraft offers a seating capacity of 346 seats and is also brilliant for freight.
