Japan Airlines, a member of the Oneworld alliance, has announced that it will launch a new nonstop daily service between Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Doha (DOH) in the summer of 2024. This will be the first time a Japanese carrier will be flying nonstop to the Middle East⁵. The route will be operated using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Doha is the home base for fellow Oneworld alliance airline, Qatar Airways, which offers connections to dozens of destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Japan Airlines currently codeshares on Qatar Airways’ route between Doha and Tokyo, and this arrangement is expected to continue once Japan Airlines launches its own route.
