British Airways Owner, IAG, Exercise An option of 10 A320neos

International Airlines Group (IAG) has confirmed that it will be converting 10 A320neo family options into firm orders. These aircraft will be delivered in 2028 and will be used to replace A320ceo family aircraft in IAG's fleet.

The CEO of IAG, Luis Gallego, said that the new aircraft are more cost- and fuel-efficient than those they will replace, and will help the company achieve its commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.No details were released about the engine types for the aircraft, but an announcement is expected nearer the time of delivery.

The news comes as IAG is also considering selling landing slots to Ryanair in a bid to appease the European Union's merger regulator, which is reportedly looking over the potential purchase of Air Europa by IAG. IAG's brands include Aer Lingus, British Airways, Vueling, Iberia, and LEVEL.
