Ethiopian Airlines is in negotiations with Airbus and Boeing over prospective jet orders and is hoping to make a choice by the end of the year, Chief Executive Mesfin Tasew said.
Tasew told the media on the sidelines of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) annual convention in Istanbul that the carrier is studying the Airbus A350-1000, Boeing 787-9, and Boeing 777X.
He also mentioned that the airline is looking into narrow-body jets, as well as the smaller Airbus A220 and Embraer E195-E2.
