Boeing and Air India, yesterday at Paris Airshow, finalized an order for up to 290 new Boeing jets and expanded services. Boeing's largest order in South Asia highlights its 90-year partnership with Air India. The order includes 190 737 MAXs, 20 787 Dreamliners, and 10 777X jets, with options for 50 737 MAXs and 20 787 Dreamliners. The order is worth an estimated $29 billion at list prices.
The new jets will help Air India renew and expand its fleet to meet the growing demand for air travel in South Asia. The region is expected to more than triple its in-service fleet from 700 to 2,300 airplanes over the next 20 years. Boeing and Air India also announced that they have signed a comprehensive set of aviation services agreements. These agreements will help Air India improve its operational efficiency and sustainability.
The order and services agreements are a sign of the strong partnership between Boeing and Air India. The two companies have a long history of working together, and this order will help them continue to grow together in the years to come.
