The airline’s Free Singapore Tour program for transit customers has been re – established in collaboration with Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) and the Singapore Tourism Board. 30% of travelers at Changi Airport are transit and transfer passengers, according to Singapore Airlines.
More than 80,000 people took the Free Singapore Tour in 2019. India, Australia, and Indonesia were the top three markets, with more than one-third of the participants coming from these two countries. The epidemic caused a two-year suspension of the program. There are four 2.5-hour-long routes available to eligible customers.
The Changi Precinct Tour is available for individuals who simply wish to leave the airport and see some of the eastern section of Singapore away from the congestion. The City Sights Tour is available to those who want to experience the top tourist attractions in Singapore in a short amount of time. The Jewel Tour takes visitors to Singapore’s newest modern attraction, The Jewel, if shopping, dining, and modern attractions are more your style. A Heritage Tour will be included to the schedule starting in June 2023 for visitors who want to see Singapore’s historical and cultural side.
“We welcome the timely relaunch of the enhanced Free Singapore Tour, which offers a unique transit experience for our customers. We are pleased to continue working closely with CAG and STB to promote the sustainable growth of travel to and through Singapore,” Lee Lik Hsin, executive vice president of commercial at Singapore Airlines said in a statement. A layover of at least 5.5 hours but less than 24 hours is required for those who want to participate in the Free Singapore Tour. To participate in the tours, participants must have a valid entrance visa for Singapore.
