Air Canada is expanding its international network for summer 2023, resuming key destinations in Asia and adding new routes to Europe.
The Canadian flagship carrier said the expansion reflects anticipated demand.
In a statement on October 13, 2022, Air Canada (ADH2) said it would be resuming flights to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Osaka (ITM) in Japan from May and June 2023, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The carrier is also restoring frequencies to destinations in the South American, Pacific and Atlantic regions.
In terms of new routes to Europe, Air Canada said it will fly to Brussels (BRU) from Toronto (YYZ), as well as to Toulouse (TLS) and Copenhagen (CPH) from Montreal (YUL), starting from June 2023.
The airline said the new YYZ-BRU route will help it expand its reach to Europe and beyond, including Africa, thanks to the Star Alliance partnership with Brussels Airlines. It noted that CPH is also a hub for Star Alliance, which will offer additional connections throughout northern Europe.
"Our additional flights to major destinations in Europe, Middle East, South America, South Pacific and Asia, including London Heathrow, Frankfurt and Tokyo/Haneda, will support local tourism and hospitality sectors as customers in all six continents reconnect, visit and explore," said Mr. Galardo.
For its international service onboard its widebodies Air Canada offers a selection of three cabin categories, including its Signature Class featuring lie-flat individual pods and Premium Economy.
