Flynas to expand Montenegro operations

Saudi Arabian low cost carrier Flynas plans to expand its operations in Montenegro next year, after launching a limited seasonal service between Riyadh and Podgorica last week, which will run until the end of the month. The Montenegrin government has announced that Flynas will introduce flights to Tivat in 2023 due to strong demand for the Podgorica service this summer.

The development was announced following talks between the Montenegrin Prime Minister, Dritan Abazović, and the Saudi Minister for Tourism and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser. Last week, the President of the Board of Directors of operator Airports of Montenegro, Eldin Dobardžić, said, “Saudi Araba, which is home to 35 million people, is a big market that has a lot to offer. The introduction of nonstop flights will serve as a catalyst not only for the tourism sector but also economic cooperation between our two countries. We must use this opportunity and I hope our collaboration continues to expand”. The Montenegrin government has temporarily lifted visa requirements for Saudi nationals until September 30 in a bid to lure tourists from the Kingdom.
