Emirates brings A380 back to Perth

The superjumbo will soar once more between Dubai and Perth as demand for travel continues to surge.

Perth’s globetrotters are set to once again enjoy some of the world’s best first class and business class experiences as Emirates resumes flying its Airbus A380 to the WA capital.

And it’s not just about those private suites and well-appointed seats – part of the Gulf carrier’s superjumbo’s appeal are inflight showers and drinks at the signature cocktail bar.

Emirates has confirmed to Executive Traveller that the A380 will replace the Boeing 777 on its daily EK420/EK421 service as of December 1.

However, it won’t have premium economy, which this month launched on A380s to Sydney, London and Paris.

“The reintroduction of our flagship A380 aircraft to our Perth services is an important milestone and highlights our longstanding commitment to the Australian market,” reflects Barry Brown, Emirates Divisional Vice President Australasia, who notes that 2022 marks 20 years since Emirates began flying to Perth.

“It's exciting to be boosting our services in line with what can only be described as exponential demand.”

That superjumbo-sized demand has been supercharged by the European summer, Emirates reports, with European cities making up eight of its top ten destinations Australians are currently flying to.

Topping the list is the UK followed by Italy, France, Greece and Ireland in the top five; Spain, Lebanon, Germany, The Netherlands and Turkey round out the leaderboard.

Emirates reopened its sizeable Perth lounge on July 28, in line with Sydney and Melbourne – with a standout feature being the ability to board the Emirates flight directly from the lounge.

Lounge access is available for business and first class passengers plus Platinum and Gold frequent flyers in both the Emirates Skywards and Qantas Frequent Flyer programs.
