Jubba Airways Fokker 50 flips over after crashing in Somalia


A Jubba Airways Fokker 50 aircraft crashed at Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ) in Somalia on July 18, 2022. The airline confirmed the accident and announced that all passengers and crew disembarked the aircraft safely. 

The 30.5-year-old Fokker 50 turboprop, registered as 5Y-JXN, was operating a domestic flight from Baidoa Airport when the aircraft crashed and flipped over on landing at MGQ airport. A report indicating the cause of the crash is not yet available. 

Shortly after the accident, video footage and photographs of the Fokker 50 aircraft appeared on social media, revealing black smoke rising from the wreckage, which was upside down.
