EgyptAir has launched its first ever direct service from its hub at Cairo International Airport to Dublin, Ireland.
The state-owned flag carrier commenced service between Cairo and Dublin on flight MS775 on June 2, 2022, operated by an Airbus A320neo, according to the airline on Facebook
The airline will operate four return flights a week with the Airbus A320neo, which has a configuration of 16 business class seats and 126 economy seats.
The airline announced in February 2022 its intent to start services to Dublin (DUB), a move welcomed by the airport.
“We’re very pleased to welcome EGYPTAIR to Ireland and to add Cairo to Dublin Airport’s extensive route network,” said Vincent Harrison, Managing Director at Dublin Airport in a statement released by Dublin Airport in February 2022.
“Cairo is one of the world’s great cities and we will be working closely with EGYPTAIR to promote this new route, which will be welcomed by both business and leisure travellers,” added Harrison.
Amr Nabil, EgyptAir’s Chairman and & CEO commented on the strategic benefits of Dublin Airport’s location as the airline looks to expand its route network.
“Due to Ireland’s significant location on the western part of the European continent, Dublin Airport represents a strategic hub for passengers flying to Egypt’s top leisure destinations; namely Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan, in addition to EGYPTAIR network reaching more than 40 destinations in the Middle East and Africa and more destinations would be added in the near future,” said Amr in the Dublin Airport statement.
