A Kazakhstan -based airline, Air Astana, has boosted its aircraft fleet with the delivery of its eighth Airbus A321LR passenger jet.
The newcomer, which joined the airline on an operating lease from American lessor Air Lease Corporation on May 5, 2022, features a two-class cabin layout and has capacity for 150 passengers in Economy Class as well as 16 seats in Business Class.
The Almaty International Airport (ALA)-based airline plans to deploy its eighth A321LR jet on its international operations across a number of destinations, including Antalya (AYT), Dubai (DXB), Frankfurt (FRA), Heraklion (HER), and Istanbul (IST) as well as London (LCY), Phuket (HKT), Podgorica (TGD), Seoul (ICN), and Sharm-El-Sheikh (SSH).
With the latest arrival of the Airbus A321LR aircraft, Air Astana's fleet will increase to 37 planes. Currently, it consists of 29 Airbus, three Boeing, and five Embraer family jets. However, the airline expects to take the delivery of two more A321LRs by the end of 2022 and aims to operate a total of 43 passenger planes with an average jet age of 4.9 years.
