Latvian flag carrier airBaltic has announced a significant milestone, surpassing the half-million passenger mark in July 2024. This represents a substantial 9% increase compared to the same period last year when the airline transported 514,900 travelers. The carrier's operational performance also saw growth, with 4,550 flights operated in July 2024, a 6% uptick from the previous year.
A key indicator of the airline's success is its load factor, which reached an impressive 88.8% in July 2024, marking a 5.8% improvement over the same month in 2023. This demonstrates strong passenger demand and efficient capacity management by airBaltic. The airline's home markets of Estonia and Lithuania also witnessed record-breaking passenger numbers in July. Estonia welcomed 92,000 passengers, a 14% increase, while Lithuania experienced even more substantial growth with 80,000 passengers, representing a 24% surge. These figures highlight airBaltic's expanding footprint and growing popularity in the Baltic region.
To accommodate the rising demand, airBaltic has expanded its network, now operating over 130 routes, including 20 new destinations. Additionally, the airline's collaboration with 24 code-share partners enhances connectivity for passengers traveling to and from the Baltics.
Pauls Cālītis, Chief Operations Officer of airBaltic, expressed satisfaction with the airline's performance, stating that the strong passenger numbers and operational efficiency are a testament to airBaltic's commitment to providing exceptional service and expanding its network. As the airline continues to grow and adapt to evolving market conditions, it remains focused on delivering a seamless travel experience for its customers.
