The exact nature of the emergency remains undisclosed by Air France. However, reports indicate the issue was classified as "operational." Following the declaration, the crew opted for a precautionary return to Paris, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew. The aircraft executed a U-turn and began its descent back to CDG. Flight tracking data shows the plane landed safely at 17:15 CEST, approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes after departure. There are no reports of injuries or significant disruptions at the airport.
While details surrounding the emergency are limited, Air France assures the public that the situation was handled according to protocol. The Boeing 777 involved (registration F-GSQV) underwent necessary checks after landing. Remarkably, the same aircraft was able to resume its journey to Abidjan roughly two hours later, departing Paris for its intended destination sometime after 7:00 PM CEST.
