Frontier Airlines expands routes to Mexico and Dominican Republic

Frontier, an American ultra-low-cost carrier, has announced a long list of new routes across its network for this winter. The carrier plans to connect Minneapolis to Cancun and Miami to Santo Domingo, with all the new routes heading south, perfect for those looking to escape the cold northern winter.

Fort Meyers is the biggest winner with five new routes set to start later this year, followed by Minneapolis St. Paul with three new services. Frontier had beach destinations in mind with their latest move, with Fort Meyers welcoming new services to Detroit and Syracuse three times a week, Buffalo up to four times a week, and Minneapolis St. Paul and Long Island with daily service.

All these routes will start from November 16th, except Buffalo which starts on the 17th. Cancun, Mexico will be Frontier's next international destination for Minnesotans, with a thrice-weekly service starting on November 16th, along with services to Fort Meyers and Orlando. Detroit and Chicago will also benefit from the carrier's services to Mexico, with a daily service starting on November 16th from Chicago Midway and Detroit. Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, will see two new services launch before the end of the year, with Miami to Santo Domingo starting on November 16th and Philadelphia starting on December 17th.

Both will operate three times a week. There are also several new services headed for Florida, including Cleveland to Miami three times a week from November 16th and a daily connection to Sarasota from December 21st. A new flight from Maryland will connect Baltimore to Tampa daily from mid-November. Miami will also see Frontier launch a thrice-weekly service to Ohio, with Cleveland welcoming Frontier from November 16th on the route, which will increase to four times a week from November 23rd. The airline's flight from Chicago Midway to Cancun is still subject to government approval.
