Emirates boosts Dubai to Perth services in order to meet pent up demand

Less than a week after Western Australia reopened its borders, Emirates has announced that it will boost its services to Perth in order to meet pent up travel demand.

The airline said that its Perth services will increase from three weekly flights to four weekly flights on April 1, 2022,  and then to daily flights on May 1, 2022.

The flights will be operated on Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER fleet in a three-class configuration.

Outbound flight EK420 departs Dubai at 0245 local time, and arrives in Perth 1735 local time. Inbound flight EK421 departs Perth at 22:20 local time, with arrival in Dubai at 0520 the following day, local time.

“Emirates is excited to increase services to Perth as Western Australia’s borders reopen and demand for travel grows by the day,” Emirates divisional vice president for Australasia Barry Brown said in a statement.

“We have been busy boosting our operations in response to the resumption of travel. As part of our commitment to Australia, we are playing a role in the recovery of its travel industry, and facilitating a return to normalcy, for our customers to have the freedom to travel again.”

The easing of Western Australia’s border restrictions will allow international travelers to enter Perth with no quarantine required on arrival, provided they are Australian citizens, permanent residents, immediate family members, or visa holders.

Passengers must provide proof of being triple vaccinated against COVID-19 with a TGA-approved vaccine, or double vaccinated if not eligible for a third dose. Western Australia regulations require arriving international passengers to undergo two rapid antigen tests (RATs), within 12 hours after arrival and on day 6. Passengers must also apply for a G2G Pass prior to travel.
