AirAsia, the renowned low-cost airline, is set to expand its operations with the launch of a new airline in Cambodia. The new airline, AirAsia Cambodia, is a joint venture between Capital A, the parent company of the AirAsia portfolio of airline brands, and the Sivilai Asia group, a local hospitality firm. The inaugural flight of AirAsia Cambodia is scheduled for May 2, 2024, between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. The airline will operate two Airbus A320 aircraft to begin with. In addition to the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap route, the airline will also service routes to Sihanoukville. AirAsia Cambodia aims to achieve an 85 percent load factor on its domestic flight operations to these three destinations. The airline has made 6,000 free seats available for booking for the travel period between May 2, 2024, and March 29, 2025.
