At Dubai Airshow 2023, Abelo and ATR have agreed to a deal for 20 ATR 72-600 aircraft, which includes a confirmed order for 10 planes and an option for 10 more.

In a press release, Steve Gorman, the Chief Executive Officer of Abelo, stated that ATR aircraft is the perfect solution to support their mission of connecting communities and businesses in an economically and environmentally responsible way.
At the Farnborough Airshow in July 2022, the Irish-based regional aircraft leasing platform had already ordered 10 ATR 72-600 and 10 ATR 42-600S (Short Take-Off and Landing). The first ATR ordered in 2022 is scheduled to be delivered to Abelo by the end of 2023, with the rest being delivered between 2026 and 2028.
According to ATR's latest market forecast, there will be a demand for at least 2,450 new turboprop aircraft in the next two decades, with these planes accounting for approximately 40% of the regional passenger fleet.
