Recently, there have been some very sad incidents near the world's largest airshow in Oshkosh. In one accident that happened on July 29, 2023, two people lost their lives and two others were hurt when a helicopter and a gyrocopter crashed into each other at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The people who owned the aircraft were at the Experimental Aircraft Association's annual fly-in convention in Oshkosh but were not part of the air show. There was also another unfortunate accident when a plane crashed into Lake Winnebago near Oshkosh and two people were killed.
The National Transportation Safety Board is looking into both accidents. These events have brought a dark cloud over the annual EAA Airventure show in Oshkosh, which is one of the largest aviation events in the world.
